Intake Manager

Colorado Doula Project is a grassroots Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that people seeking abortion care can access the support they need with dignity, compassion and autonomy. Our core programs include:

  • Abortion Support Network (ASN) – Provides financial, logistical, practical and emotional support to individuals seeking abortion care, including assistance with travel, transportation, lodging, food, childcare and abortion doula services (virtual and in-person).
  • Abortion Doula Training Program – Provides foundational and advanced training opportunities for individuals interested in abortion doula work and reproductive justice advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Intake Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Abortion Support Network and serves as a key leader in ensuring clients receive timely, compassionate and effective support throughout their abortion care journey.

This role combines direct client support, volunteer supervision and program coordination. The Intake Manager manages a team of volunteer Intake Coordinators, supports complex client cases as needed, and serves as a primary point of contact with partner organizations and abortion funds.

This is a contracted position anticipated to approximately 10-20 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase hours in October. The Intake Manager reports to the ASN Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program Operations
    • Oversee daily intake operations to ensure timely, accurate and compassionate client support.
    • Monitor client flow and service delivery to ensure program goals and response standards are met.
    • Identify operational challenges and collaborate with the ASN Director to improve systems, processes and client outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements and organizational policies.
  • Client Support
    • Provide direct client assistance and case management support, particularly in complex or high-needs situations.
    • Ensure all client interactions reflect CDP's commitment to dignity, autonomy, cultural responsiveness and nonjudgmental care.
    • Help clients navigate logistical barriers to accessing abortion care.
  • Reporting & Administration
    • Track and report program activities, outcomes and trends to the ASN Director.
    • Monitor program expenditures and ensure resources are used in accordance with approved budgets and funding requirements.
    • Assist with data collection and reporting needed for grant compliance, organizational planning and program evaluation.
    • Train, schedule, supervise and support volunteer Intake Coordinators. Provide ongoing coaching and consultation to volunteers.
    • Assist with planning and facilitating monthly volunteer team meetings and ongoing training.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to reproductive justice and the mission of Colorado Doula Project.
  • Experience working directly with clients or community members using a client-centered, trauma-informed approach.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, coordinating, or leading volunteers, staff, or teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex situations with sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of systemic inequities and ability to apply an intersectional lens to client support and decision-making.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive and Forms).
  • Spanish-language proficiency.
  • Knowledge of abortion access barriers and reproductive health systems.
  • Familiarity with practical support work, abortion funds, mutual aid or reproductive justice organizations.
  • Experience using TrackVia or similar client database and case management platforms.
  • Knowledge of Colorado-based social service and community support resources.

This is a contracted position for 10-20 hours per week.
