Linux Operations Administrator - CI/CD (HPC Environment)
Location: New York City, Hybrid
Salary: Open and will be commensurate with experience

Linux systems operations, production troubleshooting, CI/CD pipeline support, Bash and Python scripting, container operations, HPC or compute-intensive environments

Overview :
My growing client is seeking a Platform Linux Operations Administrator to support and operate an on-prem high-performance computing environment within a fast-moving trading organization. This role focuses on Linux system operations, production monitoring, troubleshooting, and CI/CD pipeline support across compute-intensive platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong Linux fundamentals, a calm and structured troubleshooting approach, and experience working in production systems. Financial services experience is not required and will be taught.

Responsibilities :

• Operate and support an on-prem Linux server environment supporting HPC workloads
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity across compute and infrastructure platforms
• Troubleshoot OS, application, and infrastructure issues in production environments
• Support, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, and Bitbucket
• Build and maintain operational automation using Bash and Python
• Support containerized workloads, including deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Assist with Linux kernel-level and OS-level analysis for performance or stability issues
• Support NFS and shared storage platforms used by compute workloads
• Perform foundational network troubleshooting across servers, switches, and connectivity paths
• Participate in incident reviews, operational reconciliations, and remediation efforts
• Collaborate closely with a small, distributed team based in NYC and Poland

Requirements :

• 3-4 years of experience supporting Linux systems in production environments
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, system performance, and troubleshooting techniques
• Hands-on experience with Bash and Python for automation and operations
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in live production environments
• Operational experience with containers and containerized workloads
• Foundational networking knowledge, including switches, routing, and traffic flow
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
• Comfort working in compute-intensive, production-critical environments

Nice to Have :

• Exposure to high-performance computing environments
• Experience supporting large-scale on-prem infrastructure
• Familiarity with Arista or similar networking platforms
• Experience working with shared storage systems such as NFS
