Education Manager

Description:

The Education Manager will work with the Senior Director of Education and other Education staff on ongoing projects and events, including managing tasks related to Practice Groups, publications, podcasts, and webinars. They will collaborate closely with the Manager of Virtual Learning on acquisition, scheduling, and hosting of webinars, as well as collaborate on the execution of virtual and hybrid conferences. In addition, they will collaborate with the Manager of Publishing with regard to podcast development, recording, and distribution, and with volunteer coordination and outreach.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, in collaboration with the Manager of Virtual Learning, webinars from conception to execution, including working with PGs, sponsors, and other volunteers on webinar proposals, managing the webinar calendar, communicating with speakers, managing the registration process, overseeing marketing, and overseeing the live events. Track and report on registration numbers and volume of webinars
  • Support the Manager of Virtual Learning with the planning and execution of virtual and hybrid educational offerings and resources, including communicating with speakers on hybrid requirements and troubleshooting in advance with virtual-only speakers to ensure smooth operation of events.
  • Support and collaborate with the Senior Director of Education on execution of new initiatives.
  • Manage, in collaboration with Education staff, publications and member engagement, including hosting and attending Practice Group meetings, acquiring, editing, and proofreading articles and other content copy, and managing volunteers throughout the content development process.
  • Collaborate with Manager of Publishing on all aspects of content development, production, and distribution, and works with sponsors on podcast content development, while collaborating with others to maintain successful sponsor relationships overall.
  • Travel to in person conferences to assist Conferences team, including helping to staff the AHLA bookstore and virtual programming sessions or other on-site duties.
  • Keep abreast of current continuing education accreditation standards, policies, and procedures and how they apply to virtual activities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Six or more years of experience in nonprofit, legal education, or related industry preferred.
  • Ability to participate as a member of multiple teams.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and write effectively and clearly for various audiences.
  • Knowledge of and experience with supporting continuing education, LMS, webinar hosting technology, and other related tools preferred.
  • Experience with common office software applications.
  • Experience in working with volunteer leaders and members preferred.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize while working on multiple projects.
  • Collegial personality and work style that ensures inter- and intradepartmental communication will be open and collaboration will be strong.
  • Travel required.
