Position Overview: As a Property Underwriting Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of property and casualty insurance underwriting. You will work closely with our seasoned underwriters to learn about risk assessment, policy analysis, and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist underwriters in evaluating property insurance applications, including gathering and analyzing relevant data.
  • Conduct research on various properties and assess potential risks associated with insuring them.
  • Assist in the preparation of underwriting reports and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to review policy documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Participate in underwriting meetings and discussions to gain insight into the decision-making process.
  • Provide support in handling inquiries from clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the underwriting team.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Prior internship or work experience in insurance, underwriting, or related fields is a plus but not required.
