Job Summary:

The VP of Product Management is a strategic leader responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of CenExel's technology portfolio across patient recruiting, clinical operations, and enterprise operations domains. This role partners closely with executive leadership, engineering team leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure products deliver measurable business outcomes, align with organizational goals, and support scalable growth. The VP will champion a product-centric culture, foster innovation, and ensure operational excellence across the product lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Owns and drives the vision of how CenExel's portfolio of technologies, drives and enables business growth across Patient Recruiting, Clinical Operations, and Enterprise Operations.
  • Translates strategic goals into actionable product roadmaps, balancing long-term innovation with short-term delivery.
  • Leads market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer insights to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth.
  • Continuously engages with pharmaceutical sponsors, CROs, investigators, and patient communities to capture direct feedback and translates it into product opportunities.
  • Stays deeply connected to the clinical research ecosystem-tracking market trends, competitive moves, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies shaping trial execution.
  • Leverages customer and market insight to anticipate unmet needs, refines product positioning, and ensures CenExel's offerings remain differentiated and industry leading.
  • Oversees the development, prioritization, and execution of the product roadmap across multiple domains.
  • Ensures alignment of product initiatives with business impact, stakeholder feedback, and resource availability.
  • Manages cross-functional dependencies and ensures timely delivery of high-value features and enhancements.
  • Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success.
  • Leads the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Aligns product lifecycle with agile methodologies and product management best practices to drive iterative development and responsiveness to market needs.
  • Monitors product performance and user engagement, leveraging data to inform decisions and optimize outcomes.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for product-related communications with executive leadership, clients, and strategic partners. While junior PMs are gathering requirements from sites, VP of Product Management should be working with other VPs and C-Suite members, Sponsors, and CROs to align tech portfolio with direction of company and growth plans.
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration between engineering, design, operations, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Champions transparency and alignment through regular updates, product demos, and strategic reviews.
  • Leads a high-performing product management organization; develop Junior PMs by mentoring and guiding them through roadmap development and ownership, product delivery, and product support. Monitors and provides drop-in support on product roadmap delivery.
  • Builds, mentors, and leads a high-performing product management organization.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Develops career paths, succession plans, and professional development opportunities for product team members.
  • Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies and trends that can enhance CenExel's product offerings.
  • Drives experimentation and pilot programs to validate new concepts and capabilities.
  • Collaborates with platform enablement, engineering, and AI teams to integrate AI, analytics, and automation into product strategy.
  • Ensures all products comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GCP, FDA).
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates product-related risks across the portfolio.
  • Supports and ensures strictest adherence to best practices, FDA Code of Federal Regulations, ICH (International Conference on Harmonization), GCP (Good Clinical Practices), CenExel standard operating procedures, site working Practices, protocol, and company guidelines and policies.

Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in healthcare, clinical research, or enterprise IT.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry dynamics including regulatory/compliance topics.
  • Proven track record of leading product teams and delivering successful products that are driving business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and product management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Ownership of product roadmaps, lifecycle management, cross-functional launch execution, and offering-level P&L.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with clinical trial operations, healthcare technology, or SaaS platforms.
  • Skilled in driving alignment across distributed stakeholders-balancing technical feasibility, commercial viability, and client value.
  • Familiar with Microsoft tech stack.
  • Familiar with modern product tools and agile methodologies; able to lead through ambiguity while managing to clear KPIs.
  • Certification in PMP, Pragmatic Marketing, or SAFe Agile is a plus.
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, M&A-integrated environments with complex client demands and evolving internal capabilities.


Working Conditions
