DESIGN ENGINEER

The primary work of the role is to perform structural design of metal buildings which meet the requirements of our client's customers.

Typical Responsibilities

The design engineer is responsible for maintaining the expected schedule while designing the structure with the most optimal solution. The engineer must coordinate with other employees to ensure that the design process continues smoothly during the order life cycle.

• The design engineer will produce designs which are clear to the downstream internal customers for accurate building production.
• He/she is responsible to provide schedule updates to co-workers when events may disrupt the published schedule.
• Expand his/her engineering knowledge with the aim of working toward professional registration.
• He/she is expected to master the role in order to be considered for higher level responsibilities in the future.

Qualifications

Education and Other Requirements

Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license(s) highly desired

Experience with structural engineering software desired
