Excellent customer service career opportunity! We are currently recruiting dedicated, service-oriented professionals interested in a customer service career. This position is remote, working from home.
State-specific pay scales for this role are as follows:
$38,567 to $67,367 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)
$35,061 to $61,243 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)
$31,555 to $55,118 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, SE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)
The base salary varies depending on experience, skills, and location.
Job Summary
Under moderate supervision, works in a fast-paced call center environment providing excellent customer service on inbound and outbound calls. Maintains existing Private Passenger Automobile, Homeowner, and Commercial policies.
Responsibilities
- Complete applications and processes to address customer concerns promptly. Utilize product knowledge and underwriting guidelines to collect information, evaluate risks, and advise customers on coverage or additional lines. Follow up on applications, policy changes, and provide verification as needed. Service and maintain accounts via phone, including quoting, cross-selling, and handling inquiries.
- Coordinate with Underwriters to resolve policy issues.
- Resolve billing inquiries and process payments.
- Use system knowledge to complete tasks independently and on time; handle assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Customer service skills and persuasive sales ability.
- Knowledge of state-specific underwriting guidelines and Mercurys protocols.
- Understanding of company policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong communication.
- Technical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize.
- Ability to analyze customer needs and make sound decisions.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Active Resident General Lines Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
- Ability to obtain P&C license in other states if needed.
- At least 2 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience in a call center or customer service role.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Experience with Mercury Insurance Group is a plus.
